HI-AM Conference Terms and Conditions

By registering for and participating in the Holistic Innovation in Additive Manufacturing (HI-AM) Conference, attendees agree to comply with the following terms and conditions:
Registration and Payment
- All registrations must be completed through the official HI-AM Conference website or registration platform.
- Payment for conference fees is due at the time of registration unless otherwise stated.
- The refund request deadline is specified on the conference website. After this deadline, registration fees are non-refundable.
Conference Access
- Access to conference sessions, workshops, and events is granted only to registered attendees.
- Attendees may be required to present a valid registration confirmation or badge to access conference areas. Individuals registered under the discounted student category may need to provide proof of student status at check-in.
Code of Conduct
- Attendees are expected to behave respectfully and professionally during all conference-related activities, both in-person and online.
- Disruptive behaviour, harassment, or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the event without refund. The HI-AM Conference is organized by faculty and staff affiliated with the University of Waterloo, and the university’s Policy on Ethical Behaviour applies to all conference activities.
Intellectual Property
- The content shared during the conference, including but not limited to presentations, materials, and recordings, is protected by copyright law. Attendees may not reproduce, distribute, or record any materials without prior permission from the speaker or organizer.
Liability and Insurance
- The University of Waterloo, the HI-AM Conference organizers, and anyone affiliated with them are not responsible for any loss, injury, or damage to attendees, exhibitors, or their property during the event.
- The views and opinions expressed during the conference are those of the individuals presenting or participating and do not necessarily reflect the views of the University of Waterloo, the HI-AM Conference organizers, or anyone affiliated with them. The organizers are not liable for any statements made during the event.
- Attendees are responsible for their own insurance coverage during the event, including health, travel, and personal property insurance.
Photography and Recording
- By attending the conference, attendees consent to being photographed, recorded, and filmed during the event. These images and recordings may be used for promotional purposes by the conference organizers.
- The event organizers are not responsible for photographs, videos, or recordings of participants taken by other attendees during the conference. By attending, participants acknowledge that they may be captured in media by others and waive any claims against the organizers related to such recordings.
Badge Scanning
- By attending, participants consent to the event organizers scanning their badges for operational purposes.
- Participants have the option to allow exhibitors to scan their badges or share their information with them. The conference organizers are not liable for how exhibitors use this information. Participants with concerns should request the exhibitors' privacy policy directly from the exhibit staff.
Cancellations and Modifications
- The conference organizers reserve the right to cancel or modify any part of the event due to unforeseen circumstances. In the event of a cancellation, registered attendees will be notified as soon as possible, and a refund or alternative arrangements may be provided.
Privacy Policy
- Personal data provided during submission or registration will be handled in accordance with the conference’s privacy policy.
Amendments
- The HI-AM Conference organizers reserve the right to update or amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be posted on the conference website and take effect immediately unless stated otherwise.
Acceptance
- By completing the registration process, attendees acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
